So over the summer of 2021 I was hired on my civic operations group, to help the community with COVID and other resources. Last year it actually felt like we were doing a service in the community. There were no quotas or anything. After returning this year a lot have changed was told it’s exactly like it was before except the dress code was different. Had to use all the money I had to get new cloths for this job. Then they also implemented a quota. One of which they didn’t tell me til my third day. Then on top of which I would be sent on to blocks with no houses and only business told not to go off that block to canvass but then fired for performance on my fourth day without receiving compensation for my gas. In fact I wasn’t even formally fired I was removed from the work chat group app and I had to find out from another worker. From the day I returned it was a shit show and run by some other lady who I never met. I would often times ask her questions which she have trouble answering. When I would be out in the field no supervisor would communicate with me and often times ignore my texts and calls which lucky I decided to record. I also recorded the four days I worked there and was often left directionless. I’m not so hurt over the firing what bothers me is there’s nothing coming down on this lady for literally not knowing anything. I honestly feel like I was made to fail. But that’s besides the point when working with her team it was obvious they didn’t know how to navigate resources and often times would just put in false data about people. I just don’t understand why we are funding this and not actual resources, because the last time they laid me off I tried obtaining some and would ya still believe I’m still in the process of trying to get these resources. Meanwhile we can pay people to hand me a paper with phone numbers on it and do nothing.
