Trying to find a job right now sucks.

So I am a recent college graduate, and am looking at mostly part time work for the summer before I go to a full time job based on my degree. I also have some part time work this summer related to my degree so I'm looking for something that is part time to supplement it as it's unfortunately not enough income to support my needs right now. But as I'm looking I gotta say, Holy shit do these jobs fucking suck. Places that just don't even reply when you've sent in your application. (I've been using Indeed) and the number of places that allow you to quickly apply through Indeed, but then send you an email with their real application where they want all the same information that you have on your profile. Places that just don't even reply when you've sent in your application. (I've been using Indeed) and the number of places that allow you to quickly apply through Indeed, but then send you an email with their real application where they want all the same information that you have on your profile. Let alone half the jobs on there already link to an outside site where you still have to fill in all the same information anyway.

Then you have jobs that reach out because you applied to something similar. Which sounds nice in theory, but then they send these messages about jobs and you're like hmm okay let me check it out! The job 9 times out of 10 sucks. And they're reaching out to try to get you signed on for them! I'm talking jobs where they aren't listing the hours accurately (usually way less than advertised), and the pay is usually $9-$12 and hour (I saw $9 an hour for a tutoring position, but they required you have a teaching cert), and they're all happy like “come join us, we think you'd be a great fit!” Like no.

Then the other end of that is the jobs that do pay $14/$15 or more per hour want your soul. I've seen some that have legitimate wanted full time availability for part time hours. And some have even said so in their listings. Let alone the fact that half the jobs that are paying this much are either health services (nursing, in home health aid, dieticians, etc) or are things that you need some sort of special certification for that you already would've needed to go to school or studied specially for it in order to get that special cert.

I'm lucky enough that my parents are still cool with me living with them for now until I can afford to get out on my own and all, but how the hell can anyone do that when even the average grocery store jobs (like stocker/cashier) are going for $10/$11 an hour?
