I have been attending interviews, applying to like 10 jobs per day. I’ve been cold calling companies, applying via the “contact us” section on company websites, and applying on job seeking websites. My resume lists a lot of jobs during the past 3 years. This is because I often worked 2 jobs at one time. Not all of my hospitality work is listed. I have a lot of retail experience, and have even worked as an assistant manager. I always attend interviews with a great smile, dressed professionally, with my hair back, minimal jewellery, etc. I have applied for a lot of companies that I like. I always follow up with an email, or phone call after interviews.
I spoke to my father, who runs a business, and he said my resume is perfect. I’ve been told that a lot, by employers. I have the relevant certificates for hospitality jobs, like food safety and RSA. I’m 21, so I’m eligible to be paid a bit higher. I’m just confused as to why it is so difficult to actually get a job? I am doing everything right.
