So one year ago I took the job from hell.
I took the job because it was full time and had a good job title. Unfortunately it was quickly revealed that my boss didn't like me, there has been high turnover for this position and it pays terribly. Anytime I have a question I am advised by my boss to contact the previous person in my position who retired after 8 years due to my boss failing to get her a pay raise once she maxed out of the pay scale. She also took on everyone else's work which leaves me in a awful awful position. I got two weeks of training from the retired employee; she complained about the person they tried to get to fill the position before me a lot.
One month into this job I was told that I would be getting a part time coworker. They of course chose a legitimately wonderful dude who recently moved here from Mexico and needs full time work. We interviewed him and I was honest after he was hired that I had no idea how to do this job. He understands and tries to help but this often becomes a point of contention with my wretched boss.
So here we are now: I will likely get a new job very soon but it is with an organization that works frequently with my current job. If I leave and don't put in my two weeks, will this come back to bite me?
