Uh oh… it’s shift work!

So I had to leave my last role due to the major stress the disorder caused. Now I’ve started at a new place and it all seemed well during orientation until they touched on the shifts. From 8AM to 11PM (temp reduction to 8AM-8PM). You’re assigned Early, Mid, or Late and it changes by the week with no consistent days off. They said that they THOUGHT the shifts would stay 8-8 and wouldn’t be returning to 8-11 in the future (I doubt that!) The thought of my sleep schedule getting totally thrown off balance from one week to the next is giving me major second thoughts about starting this job. I’m seriously considering going full time to a former employer that I know is desperate and provides more sensible hours (9-6, sometimes 8-5 for a delivery day). The only issue is that the MD is a total jerk. What do…

What do you think? Has anyone done Shift type work? How did it impact on you?
