Apologies if this isn't the right place but a colleague has left the business for a competitor and was put on garden leave rather than working through his notice period.
This got me thinking…. can anyone hand in their notice and claim they're going to a competitor to force the company into a long paid holiday? (UK will pay salary during garden leave).
Are there legal ramifications if you're later found to be lying? I.e is this fraud of some description?
