Hello everyone,
I've just been fired from my job where I worked as a front-of-house staff at a pub in the UK. The manager simply said it's not the right environment for me and fired me on the spot, cancelling my future shifts.
I'm not distraught as it isn't exactly the dream job, but I'm wondering where I stand. I have worked there for 20 days only, and never signed a contract (I assumed I would at some point). They had asked for my bank details and made sure I had a right to work in the UK, so I assume there was a contract in process that never got to me.
So, my question is: where do I stand? Can they fire me on the spot, without any prior warning or heads up? Is it an issue that I never signed a contract? Is this even worth me thinking over or should I just forget it and move on?
As I said, I don't care much about losing the job itself, but I want to make sure I haven't been taken advantage of and I'm aware I'll just have to find something new.
Thank you all!
