It ended up that my boss was NEVER in talks with my old manager… I had a chat with my old manager and she knew nothing of it. Needless to say she was pissed and said that I shouldn’t have to pick up on the new work. 🤷️
I feel like I’m being treated as a 3 year old kid who will be ok as long as it is my favourite teacher who is asking.
Had a subsequent conversation with my boss and I said that we clearly need another headcount. I can only say that nothing will change because we’ve been running on the same no. of people. The difference is that my boss is a head overseeing 2 teams while my old manager was directly hands on the portfolio. Apparently it will still be difficult to justify the headcount. The large accounts, my boss has the grand plan for me to take over next year. (Fabulous so she can be hands off)
Meanwhile I did give an ultimatum that I no longer want to continue handling stuff that I shouldn’t have to handle AND I did not want it to be simply pushed down to our assistant. It was still on my plate because no one else knows how to do it after my ex-colleague left. Whatever at this point.
I am waiting on an official job offer now and… man do I not want to stay on anymore.
