Update on my daughter not being paid for a staging at a restaurant.

A few months ago I posted about my daughter being hired to work for a restaurant and was texted the next day that they didn’t have anyone to train her so wouldn’t continue have her working there. She asked the person who contacted her how she would be paid for the four hours she worked. They replied that it was a staging and she wouldn’t be paid. (She had never heard of a staging and was told she was hired.) Many people replied that she was out of luck because she’s in Texas, while others said to file for wage theft. She did and won her case. It was less than $40, but she wanted justice especially after learning that unpaid stages are illegal. I hope they learned their lesson and stopped doing this.
