Update: PTO or bust in the face of Ian

Boss pushed me to pick PTO or no pay for hunkering down while waiting to see where Ian would make land fall. I'm never this outspoken and I need internet validation “I will begrudgingly use PTO, but (boss name) I am sorely disappointed in (corporation name), never have I ever had to use Personal Time Off to be paid during a natural disaster in ten years of employment. This completely goes against the values that (corporation name) sets forth on their website. Nothing about this speaks of respect, being a family or even empathy. To use this PTO or not is a heavy decision that has weighed on my mind for days, and I am saddened to find my self cornered wondering how will I manage my upcoming doctors appointments, seeing a rheumatologist, a geneticist and a cardiologist in the coming months while managing all of life's other bills without…
