Boss pushed me to pick PTO or no pay for hunkering down while waiting to see where Ian would make land fall. I'm never this outspoken and I need internet validation
“I will begrudgingly use PTO, but (boss name) I am sorely disappointed in (corporation name), never have I ever had to use Personal Time Off to be paid during a natural disaster in ten years of employment. This completely goes against the values that (corporation name) sets forth on their website. Nothing about this speaks of respect, being a family or even empathy. To use this PTO or not is a heavy decision that has weighed on my mind for days, and I am saddened to find my self cornered wondering how will I manage my upcoming doctors appointments, seeing a rheumatologist, a geneticist and a cardiologist in the coming months while managing all of life's other bills without the PTO I have been carefully earning and using. The PTO I have doesn't even cover two full days. (corporation name) should do better.”
