UPDATE: Pushing my boss Will off the cliff

The post that started it all It’s kind of tough to figure out exactly what is going on, so there is some speculation here. Last week, I decided to work in the bad area pretty sporadically and timing it to make it look like nothing was happening. Usually, I focus on that division for an hour or two at a time. I didn’t this time. There was still a tremendous backlog of work when I finished up and if you weren’t paying attention, it appeared that I did nothing. I cleared out new stuff and left the older crap. I made sure I did some along with the rest of our crew so we couldn’t be blamed but the volume was such that our efforts made no difference. That’s been the big bitch all along. We need all hands on deck. It all went to shit over the weekend and…

It all went to shit over the weekend and the pile of work would take me two or three days working non-stop to catch it up — assuming nothing else was dumped there.

Monday rolled around and Will did not get fired, sad to say, but he did get in trouble. I have feelers out to find out how bad it is but everything seems to be happening behind closed doors and hush-hush. I think his time is coming to an end.

One of his buddies called out on Monday, and everything was even further behind than normal. It was that way for most of the morning. I assume this was because he was in meetings with management? I don’t know.

From what one of the guys on day shift told me, Will met with slackers individually on Monday afternoon. You know, like he should have been doing all along. After that, they all got super motivated to work. Today it’s been perfect.

He did not fix his mistake with an update to the schedule but instead verbally assigned everyone to work in the shit area with all the tech problems. It was the first time more than two people were over there in the past year. I can’t remember when I have seen any of his buddies over there ever.

By the time I came in, almost every area was caught up except the one division with tech issues. You guys, this has never happened. I usually spend my first two hours catching up all the shit left by the earlier crew. No one left shit for me to do, either.

Surprisingly, EVERYONE was finally working including those that kept fucking off and leaving work for us. Yes, even Will’s buddies.

Nothing was said to me and my crew, but I get the vibe he doesn’t want us to know that he was FINALLY forced to do his job. I also think that’s why he didn’t fix the schedule.

I will update if more happens.
