Update: So I sent an email to my office manager explaining that mandatory training without pay is illegal (giving them the benefit of the doubt). My boss approached me a few days later letting me know that I will be paid for training. Now since then there are a couple of suspicious things that have happened. First of all the manager that I spoke with about this issue has now moved on to another job suddenly. The next thing is that they still haven’t scheduled the training for CPR. And the third and weirdest thing is that I was called into the office a couple of days ago and my boss complained about my issues with lateness. Now for context, I do have an issue with lateness it’s ongoing it’s been my whole life. But I actually have been working on it and especially in the past few weeks. I actually had a print out of my most recent clock ins so that he could see that I have been on time or even early most days in the past few weeks. He then told me that they were looking at the entire year and that I am not able to be late more than two times in one month. He had me sign a written warning. I have never signed one of these I don’t know why I did that, I think I fucked up. I suspect this is retaliation. Am I being too sensitive?

So really more of a question. My office has set up mandatory CPR training (which we need). They have basically said that because they paid for the course, we will not be paid to attend even though it will most likely be on a Saturday (an off day). Is this pretty standard? Or am I nitpicking?
