So I bought some people at work gifts because I get along with them and they are actually my friends. They really liked them I think. They were showing everyone what they got. People who didn’t gifts were teasing me for it and I felt bad because I wanted to get everyone gifts but I can’t afford it. My friend showed my GM the key chain she got which was about being a leader and he seemed mad but like he was playing it off. He was saying how he’d never forget this. He kept going on about it and I just felt like crying at work because I felt bad that I couldn’t get him or everyone everything. I’m friendS with one of the managers who was there the time it happened and he said the words on the keychain were a bit powerful. But it’s just a keychain. And I gave it to my coworker who is still a highschooler who has to use her check to pay rent.
My GM texted me later saying: I hope you know I was kidding about the whole present thing lmao ill do better next year to earn one
This whole situation just made me feel bad. I’d give everyone gifts if I could afford it and if I originally gave him the keychain he’d probably laugh at it.
