USA devs and EU devs: why such a big difference despite the huge demand?

I'm really wondering: why are full stack devs paid such insane salaries in the USA (from 100k to 300k, at least that's what I keep reading everywhere) compared to Western European devs who earn on average 35 to 55k euros per year (you can google it, that's really the average in France, in Germany and in the UK)? Granted, those are very good salaries for Western Europe, but that's still quite a bit of a difference overall.
