My wife and I just got into an small argument about her taking vacation time off this summer for my birthday. We are planning a trip to the beach, and in the middle of the conversation she said something that floored me. She said, that she would just go in early and work a little over the week before and check her emails. She works in customer service. I stated to her that was ridiculous, vacation is vacation. She earned that time off and doesn’t owe that company any extra work before or after the time off. Her CSR manager could manage the situation and plan accordingly. She thinks I’m over reacting, but I think isn’t valuing herself or time appropriately.
