Hi everyone,
I have been on stress leave for 6 weeks. I want to go back to work but I have a severe reaction to even thinking about it. I manage 100+ staff in an independent research centre and they/I are brutally abused every single day by the public anti vax people. That’s not even why I went on leave. I went on leave because we are so understaffed but it is my job to make sure we are staffed enough. But few people want to work for a university and carry so much abuse.
So my question is how to do I get back to work? It’s important work and I love it. The public is so ruthless.
Edit: or how can I get out of it? I have coordinated several dozens of studies, managed hundreds of people to do so, yet I burnt myself out badly. I am in therapy so please don’t suggest that. I am medicated with wellbutrin as well. My question is what to do next.
