I work for a practice doing special projects. I have created training content, templates, guides, charts, and programs that are intentional, and specific to our practice.
The co-owner of the hospital is buying up other local practices, who keep reaching out to me to share the content I’ve created with them. He’s also shared a lot of my work in the past without my knowledge or consent. He essentially tries to copy and paste from practice to practice. These practices are entirely separate businesses at this time. I am not compensated by the other practices.
I am a sharer by nature. I have no interest in hoarding the work I do, and I genuinely want to share with my professional community. However, I know that I (along with many others) am being taken advantage of by not getting compensated by the other practices for the work that I’ve done for them, while my boss keeps getting richer and buying up more practices.
Looking for advice on how to proceed. I enjoy my job and community and want to continue to do meaningful work but want there to be a bigger conversation in terms of compensation and boundaries. I’m not afraid to speak up but want to be smart about it. Are there any other communities I should cross-post to?
TLDR: My boss is sharing the content I create for one private practice with all of his other private practices. I do not get compensated by his other practices. I want to speak up but want to be smart about it. Need advice on how to proceed.
Please, no comments unless providing genuinely helpful feedback and advise.
