Walked out. These people don’t care about us.

My new Husband had a heart attack a few weeks ago. Quadruple bypass. Don't really have family or a support network, and I'm also in school full time. I called off work the night he had the attack. He was admitted after 6 hours in the ER, because the EKG looked normal. No one would cover me, my manager was cool. Then she went on vacation. I showed up for all of my shifts that week, despite being a wreck. Left what I could at the door. I did my best, they didn't give me any time off so I was seeing my kids for less than 15 minutes awake, between school work and the ICU. I called off the night before he was released. I was never offered time off, but instead written up for 5 different insignificant things during that week, after a 0 discipline need until then.…

I showed up for all of my shifts that week, despite being a wreck. Left what I could at the door. I did my best, they didn't give me any time off so I was seeing my kids for less than 15 minutes awake, between school work and the ICU. I called off the night before he was released. I was never offered time off, but instead written up for 5 different insignificant things during that week, after a 0 discipline need until then. On my last day, they were trying to “support” an employee who lost her phone and needed a few days off.
I'd rather be unemployed than work for people like this.
