Wanted to share my experience with a terrible company after resigning

Resigned from my job many months ago because of absolutely stupid reasons and wanted to share them because honestly, screw this place. Had multiple problems there including my boss causing me issues where they had constantly commented on my work saying it's not how they wanted it done and wouldn't tell me how they would like it done, so was in a constant state of questioning my performance when working. In context, I worked in IT with 3 people working in the department. There was me (1st line support), my boss (manager) and then our department senior manager. Apart from the comments my boss was making the place was very casual and it was a good job during those periods.

Anyhow, the office has had its fair amount of drama where high-ranking staff members and even directors of the company had negative language thrown across to other staff members and whatever without anyone batting an eye. There had been a lot of problems regarding staff members where they had refused to do their own work and had asked IT to fulfil their role and IT was sometimes pressured by higher-ranked members to do it. I was at times one of those people and a head of department asked me daily to do a job. I was told by the senior manager of the IT department to not do them – I had more important priorities and to ignore and refuse them. At some point because I had to ask for specifics regarding how to do the job, people had laughed at me for important information regarding it. For example, I was laughed at because they asked me to move a computer and I asked specifically how they wanted it to be set up since there was problems with ethernet/cabling and we had to work around it. Was not a fun time.

I got stopped one time when going to a person about it and I basically said “if you want the job doing you should do it yourself”. No bad language or anything remotely like that and I had been put into an investigation regarding it. Soon after because of their response I had put in my resignation and ended up not doing any work for my work period.

I did more than the job required of me and I did it for minimum wage and at times was treated like an idiot. Even though I'm unemployed and have been looking for work for half a year, I'm at a much happier state. Recently found this Subreddit and thought it was a good idea to share my story. I haven't really shared it with anyone so… Yeah.

P.S If anyone wants some stupid stories regarding the time I worked here, let me know. There are some REALLY idiotic stories I can think of.

I realize that this may seem quite mild compared to other people's situations, this was the last straw for me and lead me to resign. Found out I could've wrote the title better but oh well. Bit too late for that 😛
