Hey, Im not really sure if this is 100% the right place to ask about this. Basically, earlier this year I worked somewhere that didn’t tell me our breaks were required. I didn’t take any of them and then later the boss told me over the phone that the reason my first check was off was because she had to take out the time I was supposed to be on break (I keep a log of the exact amount of time I work every single day). After quitting (they scheduled me 6 days a week as a senior in HS), I was told by someone else that it’s actually illegal for them to not pay you for a break you didn’t take. At first my boss admitted the time removed was from breaks but then she said that they never did that. I’ve been requesting my hours worked by the day from them for months but they refuse to send it. This is in GA btw.
Is it actually illegal for them to have done that? And if so, what should I do or say since they won’t give me that information so I can check my notes?
