I was just thinking, the government is funded by our taxes – why don’t we start shifting some of our money to fund want we want from society?
Such as universal healthcare. If I could redirect my healthcare expenses towards a better national healthcare system, I would. Even if it meant it would be more costly for a few years while its being started, able to become organized, had some financial security and could make investments. One that doesn’t bully people into bankruptcy. Could work towards a fair sustainable healthcare program for all.
If there was a non profit store or brand I could buy, I would. Farmers are the closest I can get. We have organic in the grocery store which is nice, why don’t we add a “non-profit” section? I’d put my money there. Instead of paying the Waltons, pay the workers.
Do any of us trust the people in Washington? I don’t. So why would I trust them to create these systems for us to support? Look at every system they’ve created and the majority of them are terrible because they create industries for profit. Even the good systems have problems because of greed and wealth.
Are there organizations like this that I could support, ones with clear transparent goals and is for people and not profits?
