I've checked the rules and whilst not in the spirit of the sub I would like to suggest that the community allows positive posts on one day a week so that people can see what employers ARE capable of and what we should be expecting decent people to provide.
It was this sub that encouraged me to not take shit from my last job and jack it in for a better one. I thank you all for that and my mental health is so much better as a result.
I started this new job with so many red flags. The guy interviewing me legit said “we're like a family here” in the interview. That was the second interview as at the first one we were chatting so much he forgot to ask me the proper questions and corporate dragged me back.
My pay in my offer letter was a little higher than I was expecting and when I brought it up with my boss he asked me to keep it to myself until October as I was on more than more experienced people and it was something he was trying to sort out. He seemed genuine so I waited it out.
I'm pleased to say that at the team meeting he announced a levelling up and pay increase for everyone but I wasn't eligible as I hadn't been there long enough. And he said I should now be in the middle of the band and it should be fair for everyone.
Remember, it's not their money they're giving away. Don't be fucked over by someone setting your pay so that they can put “trimmed labour budget by x% without compromising service.” On their fucking CV
