Well that’s another failed endeavour.

I went for a different position to what I knew and transferred from what I knew, trucks and rail to have a go at working on light vans and cars. I was taken on under the understanding that I wasn't a van mechanic, had never worked on them before and hadn't even applied for that position, I had applied to work on the heavy vehicles, my background. The company expected a full service, all filters and oil replaced, all lights, tyres, belts inspected, all brake pads replaced in 2.25 hours. Plus completing all associated paperwork in that time window. All this while working with only a trolley jack and axle stands. They expect between 100 and 105% efficiency in these targets. The lads in the workshop, working on lifts had the same time requirements but obviously they're standing up with the whole vehich off the ground, how someone breaks into their mobile role I have no idea.
