Tuesday my family came and helped me decorate our office for Christmas.
Wednesday i put up the tree in my office. Was feeling great.
Thursday I had a nice bike ride into the office, then as soon as I got in someone complained to HR about me because they didn't like something I did. When HR came to ask questions my manager promptly blamed me, told me I was having a bad day, and told me to take the afternoon off on unpaid or annual leave. I told him I could work from home or he could give me administrative leave, as I wasn't going to use my scarce vacation time over his whim. So he put me on administrative leave. Later noticed that my password had been changed so I don't even have access to any company systems. Mind you, my immediate supervisor was on vacation and no one else in the office besides him is qualified to address the issues that my expertise is in. So mostly he's screwing himself (and me as I'll be playing catch up when I get back). Spent the rest of the day and Friday trying to get ahold of my useless union with no luck.
Next week is supposed to be our office Christmas party. Told my wife I wasn't going now; she said she'd go, and give my manager a tongue lashing.
Today I'm dealing with high blood pressure and knots in my stomach thinking about this. I don't usually thrive on confrontation but I am not a pushover. Just wish I could have spoken to someone to reassure me that this won't be getting worse and how best to proceed.
