What are my rights for giving notice (UK)?

I’ve googled this but find different answers and im unsure what to do. Ive been at a job for 2 years last month (feb) and have been applying for other jobs due to certain circumstances. The new jobs im applying for i have told them i am not currently working (so I can start their job as soon as needed, with maybe some leeway), even though Im still at my current 2 year job. Ive googled it and it says legally a week, but a week for every year you have been there (i have been there 2 years in feb, and unsure if this means I need to give 2 weeks notice as the first month or two at work was training, and a few answers online say a week is fine).

I dont want to get into trouble for only giving a week and then my managers telling me they need more notice (but unable to in case I start a new job soon).

I really need to leave my current job.

(If you’ve seen my posts, you’d understand why im looking for another job).
