I recently had a conversation with a friend who’s very anti-work. He mentioned sales people are basically landlords. They provide nothing of value and make money off other people’s labor.
My response is that companies without good sales teams can’t sell their products and the labor us wasted. Also, sales people frequently work absurd hours and are on call 24/7/365. It’s also a job that people can get without a degree or fancy background.
Friend still said sales should disappear and everyone should sell to coops that distribute goods as needed. But that coop would basically need their own version of sales people to distribute the goods to the appropriate people and collect money.
