What changes/protections do you guys wanna see within the next 10 years or so?

I hate capitalism and our system in general. Issue is I don't see it going away for a while. If you could change the environment around work and companies, what changes would you want to see? Personally, for me? I'd want: Most if not all supervisor/managers of entry level positions to be internally hired. I don't think people who have never worked a specific position they're overseeing have the qualifications to do such. Employers to start realising they've gotta sell themselves. And that's not with employee-paid expensive insurance packages and a yearly bonus of $0.25. You have to actually start giving a shit about the people you employ, otherwise workers are going to go to a job that does and produce better results. Make it so employers cannot advocate against medical advice, no limits attached. Start giving a shit about the health of your fucking employees. Whether that's job security…

Personally, for me? I'd want:

  • Most if not all supervisor/managers of entry level positions to be internally hired. I don't think people who have never worked a specific position they're overseeing have the qualifications to do such.

  • Employers to start realising they've gotta sell themselves. And that's not with employee-paid expensive insurance packages and a yearly bonus of $0.25. You have to actually start giving a shit about the people you employ, otherwise workers are going to go to a job that does and produce better results.

  • Make it so employers cannot advocate against medical advice, no limits attached. Start giving a shit about the health of your fucking employees. Whether that's job security with or without pay, whatever, but expecting employees to half kill themselves for you is ridiculous.

  • Micro-managing more harshly punished within working environments, and open respect given. They need employees just as much as employees need a job. Managers who speak down to or belittle subordinates should be considered workplace harrassment and strongly looked down on.
