What do we do about a wage mistake?

My wife has been working for a company in Utah for 3 years, and was making a manager’s wage. She recently stepped down as a regular employee, and they told her her wage would decrease (obviously.) She has recieved a few paychecks since stepping down, but didn’t notice until recently that they are still paying her the manager wage. Once she realized, she saved the excess money aside in case they try to claim fraud or something. Should she reach out to them, or wait for them to come to her? Any advice? Can they legally ask for that money back?
