What made you join r/antiwork?

I have noticed a lot of people here, myself included, joined this subreddit after their experiences with horrible jobs/bosses/pay. What made you join this subreddit? I’ll start – My first job was at a local ice cream parlor. I was paid minimum wage + tips, which would be split up between the 3-4 workers every night. My first job was at a local ice cream parlor. I was paid minimum wage + tips, which would be split up between the 3-4 workers every night. Keep in mind, this was my first job so I didn’t really understand how tips would be divided among the workers (as did most of the other employees there). After a few months, I started to realize how weird it was that my boss counted the tips by himself and only gave us our tips at the end of the night in exact change. I finally knew something was up when I saw multiple $20 bills in the tip jar and a ton of cash, but by the end of the night my boss hands me and 2 other workers one singular $5 bill. A few days later and I’m 10 minutes late to work. By the end of the night, I get my tip and it’s another $5 bill! I confront my boss and he tells me he took some of my tips because I was late. I quit on the spot.
