TLDR: my postmaster is telling my boss, landlord, and even people I don’t work for that. I am ignoring her, and that I am an untrustworthy employee. What should I do?
Hello, I’m sorry if my grammar is bad enough is not my first language. Please currently work for the USPS and I was on medical leave for three months. My boss has not tried to get in contact with me since the beginning of the year. However since my disability ended on the 3rd of the month, and I have not received any response or schedule for Usps, I started working at the dinner in my town on the weekends. My postmaster saw me working there and went and cried tears saying how I’m ignoring her calls and that she doesn’t understand why I’m treating her like this. As well as hinting to my other boss that I might not be a trustworthy employee. She’s also takes to my landlord about me, but I’m not sure what she told them. My boss from the diner has a brother who runs the local grocery store and when I went in today, he gave me a letter from my postmaster that was a resignation/transfer paper work. I don’t think she allowed to do that right? He’s not even my boss or anything, and she has my number and address. She mailed me multiple letters while I was sick asking for paperwork proving that I can’t come in and work, so I don’t know why she would give it to someone I don’t work for. I contacted my union rep and he will be going with me on Thursday for a meeting to discuss what I can do for work, I believe? I don’t want to talk to her alone because of how weird she is being, and because she is trying to push this story that I am being mean to her even though she has not reached out to me once. I’ve only seen her to drop off paperwork.
Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening to someone else? I’m lucky that I know my other bosses and landlord or else who knows what would’ve happened to me. I could have lost my only income and housing. And to tell the truth I don’t know if that’s all that true because they don’t seem to believe me all the way. Any advice would help me a lot thank you.
