2 of my coworkers and I requested the same weekend of to attend family/friend's graduations. Our boss said this was fine.

However, the person who was going to cover some of our shifts got fired after our boss saw them talking trash about him on camera. Someone new has been hired, but while our previous coworker had open availability, our new coworker goes to school. This has left a hole in our schedule. There is a day where the only person available is our boss, but it's one of our busiest days, and he says he needs someone with him.

He left it up to us to figure the schedule for that week out after he “gave up” on it. My coworkers and I are pissed, we don't want to have to miss people's graduation because our boss fired the person who would have helped cover our shifts. I want to tell him that “it's not my fault you fucked up and fired the person that had the availability and ability to cover for us” but I feel like that would go badly.
