This is at my previous job.
So we had a woman in her 50's start, and for context she's a couple of decades older than me.
She's the kind of coworker who never uses her resources for the answer, and was always bothering coworkers asking for help. 8 months into the job she'd still be doing this.
Her conversations was always really inappropriate, and she shared far too much of her personal life. One day she told me she had emphysema and had 4 years to live… I barely knew this woman.
After choosing a desk far away from her, she'd still come down and sit opposite me.
After giving my notice period, I decided I wanted to spend my remaining weeks with my work friends, not this weirdo, so I sat by them.
She stops by my desk and goes “Oh. You don't want to sit next to me anymore.” I don't remember what I said.
But Holy Hell, what an inappropriate thing to say to someone you work with. Lady, I'll sit wherever I like and I don't have to answer to you about it…
I really just had to rant about it. In my 7 years of working there, I never had an inappropriate coworker like that.
