I work for a smaller tech company (approx 75 employees). The business does a number of services from marketing/social media, to web design/management.
Just recently our boss announced they plan to split the company into 3 separate companies and are canning our HR partner. They claim that with this split, there are implications to our PTO and benefits that they “have to” roll out in the new year, but are waiting until after the holidays to announce them, as they are sure to be unpopular.
My question is: what would be the reason behind splitting up the company? The way it’s being presented to leadership is that it’s in the best interest of the company in the long run – but my gut tells me somethings up.
