When is a 12k pay cut not a pay cut

So, I'm moving off a contract job to a more traditional job in about a week and a half. I love where I work now. People are great, environment is great, work is great, BUT it's no benefits contingent contract with no chance of hire. After calculating everything out (including estimated taxes); vacation time, health insurance, general benefits, 401k match, and a lower tax liability for technically making less came out to damn near 12k. This is how screwed up employment is in the US. It is the SAME net pay due to no nationalized health care and no mandatory vacation time. I have the numbers and spreadsheet that I made for this. Used the last 4 years of tax returns and other general data to calculate. If companies want people to stay, they need to start acting like they want talent to stay.
