There's been many times when I'm out or meeting friends of friends where one of the first (and admittedly the easiest conversation starter) conversations is based around work. But the thing is work doesn't define most people, including me.
If I was asked what I like doing the conversation would be so much more interesting and passionate because it's the stuff I LOVE to do, instead of the boring, drab soul crushing work conversation.
Another thing I've realized is when you tell certain people your job role you are categorized by them subconsciously, but your job is only a tiny tiny part of you but now it's been made what defines YOU.
