So I work at the airport check-in and sometimes people come with their old tags on the bag. They must be removed, due to the fact bags might get lost if the tags are still on (they might stay to the airport due to confusion)
So last night a GOLD Card passenger came to my counter – put his bag on the belt while I was serving another Business Class passenger and I asked him to remove it and stay back until I finish. He did but he did not stay back. Infact he was breathing over the girl's shoulder at that point. I finished with her and called him forward and asked him to remove the old tag explaining why. He refused to remove the old tag and said it is my responsibility to remove the old tag (it is most certainly not) and I told him that I am not allowed to remove it because his personal details are on it. He insisted on his position and smugly said he would not remove it and so did I. I left the old tag on, put the new tag next to it and sent the bag.
Guess who got called from the Human Resources on my day off because I was rude to an unruly passenger?
Apparently when you are a GOLD Card or a Business Class passenger, you are entitled to being a complete a**hole and the Agent has to tolerate it or risk losing their jobs. So I did my job right AND got threatened for it. Fuck this sh!t Low cost airlines never do that!
