When people refuse to schedule a call

Noticed a bad habit of people insisting “We'll call whenever some [blatantly unpredictable meeting] ends,” blissfully unaware of how the relative schedule wastes everyone's time. You can't work on anything serious requiring focus, because you might be interrupted at any moment. But 9/10 times, the event goes on for so long that they reschedule the call anyway. Why can't people just be normal and schedule calls using a clock?! People show up for work and forget they left their brain on the nightstand.
