I left work early the other day, to pick up a kid from school, and was planning to go home and call into the remainder of my meetings for my day since my afternoon was booked solid. After Informing my boss of my plan, she responded with “I know you’ll be balancing it out tomorrow”.
Umm, balancing? I’m working my normal hours, not taking the afternoon off. Guess next time I’ll just call in for the day when I need a little flexibility.
Why do bosses never recall the amount of times I’ve been called during off hours, or asked to meet a deadline so I stay late or work a Saturday?
