A.I. is an opportunity to make our lives easier when we look at the bigger picture. If A.I takes over our work then that’s a good thing. That means we won’t have to work.
A lot of professions will be killed along the way but in the future we won’t even notice they’re gone. When was the last time anyone picked up a dictionary to learn how to spell something or learn what a word meant? Turned on the news to find out what the weather was like? Called a travel agent to book a train and plane ticket?
I think it will be a very ugly road until we reach the end point. A lot of people will suffer when they shouldn’t because of the greed of the capitalists. They’ll replace workers and keep the profits at first.
But that’s not sustainable. They’ll have no consumers to consume whatever it is that they’re selling, no one will be buying, so no one will be selling and everything will collapse.
But this time, if A.I does the work then there would be no reason for the collapse. They can simply do the work and provide the goods and labour.
There will be pressure for that to happen and I think the world will change when that does. That could still be a very long way ahead and I think it’s going to be a very painful path to the finish line but it’s one that we should embrace not fight.
With all that being said there’s still the climate emergency. Every country pledges to make a difference but does the exact opposite of what they say. So, that might get us first and A.I won’t matter at all, lol.
