Why do employers immediately ghost you when you ask what the salary and hours are ?

Fairly straightforward questions which I now ask any potential employer straight away to save time, hassle and weed out any time wasters. You either want to hire someone or you don't, it's not complicated. Why the mystery with these questions? If it's crap then just be honest 🤷
