Why do I care so much about doing my job so well?

To preface this, I’m not a doctor, I’m not a fireman or anyone in that industry where you must do your role well as it could endanger others. I’m talking about a back of house guy that opens boxes. I’ve worked for this company for the last 3 years as I’m only 18, but ever since my first day on the job I’ve done absolutely everything I can to complete my shit to the endth degree. I got a “promotion” to team leader because the last one walked out, you’d think extra responsibilities and work mean you get compensated? No. You’d think being one of the most effective workers there and effectively being praised by most of your team as why they still work there you’d be seen as a man they can rely on? No I’ve just finished school and I want to expand my opportunities in this dead…

I’ve just finished school and I want to expand my opportunities in this dead end company? No you’re stuck on a 3 hour 3 day a week shift schedule and boss man isn’t gonna do a thing about it.

I just don’t get it with corporate companies. You work your ass off (for some unknown reason in my case) and you get nothing for it.
