Why do jobs like this do that?

So I applied for some work at a Pizza Hut for some extra cash in the summer. My main job is with tax prep and I am in the off season in my company. And I have also applied for year round tax remote openings too. My main company makes seasonal staff take 13 weeks off, but it's waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than everything else in the area and is remote. . Another for a remote tax firm. The remote tax firm was much more professional and treated me like an adult. The person on the phone seemed impressed with my 10 years in the field and work. I hopefully have a zoom meeting coming and it goes well as this is year round Now the big difference is how both companies handle their applications. Both I found on Indeed. Now the big difference is how both companies handle their applications. Both I found on Indeed.

  1. The tax company was easy apply and followed up both via email and Indeed messages. They asked for a reply back with a little info and a quick video. Annoying but I was able to do it via the phone and they scheduled a call then.
  2. The Pizza hut had info on Indeed then had to go to their main application and then had to do it all again with an application I had to refresh each time.

It's my experience that good companies make the application painless but crappy ones make it hell to get people to even apply. And those are the ones that are having hard times getting people. Like make your application work without me having to refresh each time. Pay a little better to get people in. I've told someone on a phone interview that the pay and hours they were offering were not something that was fesable in my situation but would be if it had more hours. Like the ones saying “No one wants to work” are the ones that want a stool sample for a cashier job (Not literally but they ask waaaaaay more than the jobs should require.)
