Why do people stay?

Hey everyone. I'm probably about to pass a ton of people off but I'm curious why people “just deal” with situations they don't like. Let me explain…after reading this sub, talking to the neighbors, and even talking to my own team, I hear a lot of complaints about salaries, benefits, time off, and work environments.

I have always lived by the rule that if I don't like a situation, whatever that is, I typically just walk away.

I understand it can be scary and risky, but I've never gotten anywhere but sitting still. There are a ton of opportunities out there, we were literally begging people to come work for us (turn key construction in the USA) 6 months ago. Most positions started at 20 with 0 experience and unlimited overtime. We even quit drug testing to get people.

I know walking away is not always possible but most people I talk to could without their world collapsing.

Thanks and sorry if I triggered anyone.
