This goes for mainly US restaurants that I’ve worked at. Not only do US restaurants pay below living wage, every one I’ve worked at does not allow employees to order or make themselves a meal on the day of their shift. We have a dishwasher who leaves his A.M dishwashing job then catches the bus to our location to wash dishes for nearly 16 hours a day. The man passes out while working nearly as once a week from hunger and hydration but is not allowed to eat anything at work.
Make it make sense to me.
