Why do workplaces hate new-hires so much?

I absolutely detest being the new person at a workplace. Not only because I am likely to suck at my job, but because of how I get treated by managers and co-workers. Every job I've been in, during the first couple weeks, I've been verbally abused, yelled at for doing something wrong, or even if I have done everything right, it still wasn't good enough because I was too slow. Most of the time I don't even receive proper training, just get pawned off to a co-worker and follow whatever they're doing. It was ineffective because often times training someone new is a full-time job in itself, but on top of that the co-worker usually have their own tasks they need to complete. And if you don't get something quick enough, they don't even bother with you anymore, just take you off the roster. It got so bad at my last job that I quit after working for there only three months. In my experience, as a new-hire, you are always the scapegoat for anything that goes wrong. You get the worst, most-degrading, tedious tasks that nobody wants to do. You are rarely ever shown how things are done at a job, yet when you make mistakes it's your fault. Which is ridiculous, because even if you have years of experience, every workplace is different and it is absurd to expect somebody to do all the tasks perfectly on their first day.

I do want to make it clear that I do not hold anything against my co-workers. Most of them are good people and are willing to help. But the situations and the circumstances that they're put in are so stressful that it brings out the ugliest side of everyone. Who I do blame, are the managers, who are out overworking and underpaying their workers to the point they're bitter, angry and have lost their basic human decency. But none of it is the new-hires fault, yet it is taken out on them. I would never get over how companies continue to complain how “NoBodY WaNTS tO wOrk anYmOrE”, yet make the workplace as hostile and un-welcoming as possible for new people. I know it's holiday season so things are extra stressful, but as spoken by a legend on TikTok, “If this holiday season, you're short-staffed, hire taller staffs!”
