Why I chose sex work over consulting for a Fortune 500.

Recently, I needed a way to get $2,000 rather quickly. I had two options: A) Go consult for a company that would pay me an exorbitant hourly rate because the bottoms of their barrels are sickeningly endless. I’m great at what I do so they don’t mind paying it. And because my ideas are good it will assist them in continuing our downward plunge into reckless capitalism. B) Dip my toe back into sex work. Where I can charge the same fee, go out on a fun date, plan an adventure and then get into all kinds of mischief 😉 I chose B. And I’m not saying no one gets hurt in that option. I won’t lie and say that all of my clients are single. But, let’s be real, affairs kill a lot fewer folks than capitalism. And, because tech companies have taken over even the dating world, a…

Recently, I needed a way to get $2,000 rather quickly.

I had two options:

A) Go consult for a company that would pay me an exorbitant hourly rate because the bottoms of their barrels are sickeningly endless. I’m great at what I do so they don’t mind paying it. And because my ideas are good it will assist them in continuing our downward plunge into reckless capitalism.

B) Dip my toe back into sex work. Where I can charge the same fee, go out on a fun date, plan an adventure and then get into all kinds of mischief 😉

I chose B.
And I’m not saying no one gets hurt in that option. I won’t lie and say that all of my clients are single.

But, let’s be real, affairs kill a lot fewer folks than capitalism.

And, because tech companies have taken over even the dating world, a LOT of the guys I met on this not-quite-but-kinda-is-escorting website were sweet single dudes who just strike out on all the apps. Sex work allows us to connect and have honest conversations, be real about our wants and needs, and get a truly mutually beneficial experience.

Today I ran into another unexpected financial hurdle and made the decision. I’m going for doing this for real.

I think society wants us to have shame at selling our bodies* because it’s truly the only thing we solely control. We are told that pleasure is dirty because it is necessary to deprive many of their joy in order to control. Fuck that. I’ve got a damn fine commodity that doesn’t harm anyone (affairs aside of course) and I’m gonna use it as much as I damn well want to.

I developed a niche. Came up with a new name and persona, made a new website and all new socials and am going to start saving up for a work phone and laptop to better protect my identity and self.

I’m smart and I’m doing this safely.
And men have treated me way more disgustingly in the business boardroom than the business bedroom.

I don’t HAVE to do sex work
And there’s massive privilege in that

But, indeed, this is the MOST ethical work I can think of that will bring me the funds I need right now.

And heck, when it’s good, it’s the most fun I’ve ever had on the job.

Rant over. Thanks for listening. Decriminalize sex work and support your local independent provider!

*selling access to your body in regards to sex work. Obviously there is no end to people who sell access to their bodies in the form of manual labor.

EDITED TO CLARIFY:

This is due to my circumstances – needing $2000 v quickly due to unforeseen financial hurdle”
