The reality is that most of us need jobs to pay the bills.
If, like me, you have little to no experience, it can be damn near impossible. Almost every job ad I've seen requires previous experience of at least 2 years, even for something “entry level”. How on earth am I meant to have experience if entry level jobs already require experience?? It's like nobody is willing to train you or to have any level of patience, they just want people to pop out of the womb knowing everything. If you're a genius I suppose you can probably “survive” the system, but I wasn't that lucky.
On top of that, I've been looking for remote jobs because I don't want to be tied down to an office, but even jobs advertised as “fully remote” often require you to go to the office and I just cannot for the life of me understand why employers have such a hard-on for offices. For context, I work in tech, so it's not exactly necessary. I've been in a hybrid job, and all the office did was make me tired and annoyed. I had to commute 1h30 during peak hour twice a day to go to a place that was noisy and cold (not great for focusing). Then on top of that, I was still kind of expected to work when I got home. I really cannot understand the obsession with offices. If you enjoy it, sure, you should have the choice to go, but for me personally it's an environment that doesn't help me actually do my job and that frankly just drains the life out of me. I struggle to see what the benefit is and I'm so tired of this.
