Why so many people have issue with outsourced employees working via video screen?

Sorry for the confusing title, but essentially in the past few days there have been posts of people working from developing countries (such as that of the Philippines and Nicaragua) working reception jobs via video zoom in the US. I personally thought that it was very clever and impressive use of technology—furthermore, its much better in my opinion at least than having a fully automated system. Considering employees from developing countries are almost always harder workers than Americans paired along with the fact that labour is cheaper there due to cheaper costs, there is no benefit of hiring Americans for a job that can be outsourced. Companies don't care about giving an American work especially as no/low skilled workers often half arse their work.
