EDIT: im talking about waiting a month to communicate with me about this job to clear up any confusion!! i should have made that clear in the initial post!
this one job i was SUPPOSED to have caused me the most stress from a job ever.
my partner was working at a retirement home for about a month when i applied for the same job. they were “urgently hiring.” it was online as such. so i applied, filled out all the extensive paperwork, and got offered an interview. so of course i went to the interview and i got the job. which then i had to get a tuberculosis test, a physical, drug test, and a background check. i did all of those things in one day. then silence. for a whole month. no text, no call, no nothing. i was 17 at the time, i’m 18 now, so this could have been a lot more stressful if i was living on my own. but it was stressful nonetheless. but i was stressing for a month, trying to learn how to be as financially independent as i could be, trying to start working, be able to pay for things i want and want to do, and having to pay for my own gas in my car. i was so frustrated with the people who were urgently hiring but refused to even communicate with me. within that month of silence i was offered another job. and in the three days of me filling out the application and getting hired, the first job finally decided to schedule me for orientation. so i told them that i would no longer be working for them since i got another job.
why do employers even put out that they’re urgently hiring if they refuse to talk to their employees? then we get shit on for “not wanting to work” or just flat out being unemployed. it’s not fair. and it’s not my fault.
