Wife accidentally CC’d on email of her upcoming termination

My wife works for a small independently owned real estate law firm as a W-2 salaried employee in the state of Georgia. Today she was accidentally CC’d on a conversation between the business owners wherein they were discussing their intent to terminate her employment on December 19 (before the company Christmas party). We’re both a little shocked, and concerned for the future. Her work performance was good, the termination seems to be more driven by work culture. Should we start looking at government unemployment options in our state?
